United Way of Summit County announces 2020-21 grant recipients

AKRON, Ohio – Over the next two years, United Way of Summit County will award grants to 53 programs representing 41 organizations, including the Akron Area YMCA, the Akron Urban League, Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and The Salvation Army.

The grants are part of United Way’s $8 million investment in programs and initiatives that benefit county residents, the agency reported in a news release. This includes the Financial Empowerment Center, which operates in partnership with the city of Akron, and the United Way’s 2-1-1 line, which answered more than 70,000 calls from county residents last year.
